This September, PushPush Arts premieres 13 Poems in Draft, a bold new hybrid work by Chicago playwright Rory Sullivan. Blending live performance, poetry, and world literature, the play follows an aging ESL teacher who gifts his wife a nightly poem to mark their anniversary—sometimes tender, sometimes brutally honest. The piece explores love, aging, and miscommunication with humor and heart. Featuring literary voices from Shakespeare to Angelina Weld Grimké and striking visuals from art masters, it’s a rich, cross-cultural journey for lovers of language, image, and emotion.
